- Wear sunscreen especially in areas of the body that is highly exposed to the sun such as your arms, neck, face, etc when ever you go out in the sun to prevent the sun's rays from getting into your skin. To ensure you are adequately protected, wear sunscreen no matter how cloudy it is outside.
- When ever the sun becomes intense, don't forget to seek for shade. Don't go for just any shade, ensure that such shade is 100 percent protected from the sun's rays. You can use your shadows to know when the sun is intense. A shorter shadows means that the sun is directly overhead and could be intense at that time.
- Don't stay long under the sun when it is directly overhead or under the midday sun. This is the time of the day when the sun is intense and the rays strongest as it could have great negative impact on your skin.
- Always check out the UV index to enable you plan your daily activities so as to know when to be out in the sun.
- Protect your skin by putting on sun protection clothing. You can also wear hat especially the wide brim hat and sunglasses to protect your face from the sun.
