For instance, repeated frowning of the face could lead to wrinkles developing early on the skin. These tips will help you protect your face from the sun’s rays.
  • Wear sunscreen when ever you go out in the sun: Do this regularly, for best result, apply every two hours extra spent in the sun. apply sunscreen no matter the weather outside.

But, if you are involved or going to be involved in activities that may make wearing of sunglasses uncomfortable such as when playing sports, then you can do with out the glasses and apply eye cream with sun’s protection on the areas around the eyes. You can also use eye cream with sun’s protection along with sunglasses.

What Causes Premature Face Wrinkles?

In one of my previous posts, I wrote on the causes of premature wrinkles. This article is somewhat similar to that article only that its focus is facial wrinkles.
Facial wrinkles are those wrinkles that develops around the face. They are part of the natural process of aging. We cannot run from them as they will certainly occur as we grow older. And the more older we get, the more visible they become.
Sometimes, facial wrinkles can develop on the face faster than normal. When this occur, its usually referred to as premature facial wrinkles.
There are several causes of premature facial wrinkles, below are some of them.

  • Facial movement: facial movement around the face could cause premature wrinkles to occur around the face. These could be frowning, grimacing, raising your eye lashes causing fold around the forehead, and so on.
  • Exposure in the sun: Exposing your face to the sun’s rays without protection could cause premature wrinkles on the face.
  • Smoking: Smoking of cigarette generally cause wrinkles on the skin including the face. It increases the aging process of the skin, thus leading to the formation of premature wrinkles on the face.  Areas of the face where these wrinkles are obvious are the lips and mouth. This often known as or referred to as ‘‘smokers’ lines’’.
  • Sleeping n one side of your face: When you sleep on one side of your face, everyday it leads to the quick formation of wrinkles around those areas of your face that touches the pillow. The weight of your head on the pillow creates pressure which causes fold to develop.
  • Yoyo dieting: Generally, when you lose weight or lose facial weight, there is the tendency for your skin to sag. When you repeatedly gain weight and lose weight around the face, it causes or leads to premature wrinkles, , this is known as yoyo dieting. Repeated weight gain causes your skin to stretch.
The above are some of the causes of facial premature wrinkles. Now you now know what causes premature facial wrinkles. Now the next step is to learn how to prevent it if you don’t have it already. But if you do, you can also follow the steps to prevent it from getting worse.

Do Smiling And Frowning Causes Wrinkles?

Last week while trying to answer questions on Yahoo Answers, I came across series of questions relating to whether or not frowning and smiling causes wrinkles. I felt it would be proper to write on the above topic to help those who would be interested in the above topic to get answers.

Does frowning causes wrinkles?

The answer to the question above is ….. YES!!! I know many people when asked the same question would answer likewise. I guess this is so because much has been said about frowning.
Frowning is one of the major causes of facial wrinkles caused by facial expression. The area of the face prone to wrinkles when you frown is the area between the brow and this is known or referred to as frown lines.

Does smiling causes wrinkles?

If the above question was asked many years ago, many people would have said ‘no’. in the past people believed that frowning is the cause of wrinkles not smiling. And this is evident in movies, books which suggest this in some quarters, people where ask to smile more to get out wrinkles between the eyebrows. Even though this may be correct, they were not aware that smiling could cause some part of the face to wrinkle. The parts of the face prone to wrinkles when you smile are the corners of the eyes known as crow feet and the corners around the mouth.

Other factors responsible for those facial wrinkles

This section is important because I know some questions maybe propping up in your mind. Questions like “why do some people have more wrinkles than others?”.  The truth is that certain factors come into play to cause facial wrinkles. Below are some of them.
  •  Sun exposure: Exposure in the sun could cause damage to the skin.
  • Smoking of cigarettes: Smokes from cigarettes is known to cause the reduction in the production of collagen and elastin. These proteins are very important to keep the skin together.
  • Collagen and elastin:  These proteins like I stated earlier is needed to keep the skin together. These proteins are produced in high quantity when one is young. As one grows older, it tends to reduce. This is why it is difficult to see wrinkles on a young face.
  • Age: I would like to add age to this list because I feel it is very important. An older person is likely going to have wrinkles from smiling and frowning than a younger person.

Is there a solution?

In terms of prevention, there is little you can do about it, unless you want to stay as expressionlessly as possible. And you know this is almost impossible. To reduce facial wrinkles caused by these facial movements is to reduce the rate at which you smile, frown or make faces. Remember, I stated earlier that other factors also come into play. Reduce or stop those factors that are within your power.
In terms of treatment, there are several treatment available for both wrinkles caused by frowning and those caused by smiling for instance, there are patches available such as Furlesse and Frownies to remove or reduce facial wrinkles.

What Causes Smoking Wrinkles?

Does smoking causes wrinkles

In my last post I wrote on straws and wrinkles. If you read that post, you will get a hint on the above topic (smoking wrinkles) because I wrote briefly about smoking. Now back to the topic for today. Most people now know the health effects of smoking as it affects the lungs which can lead to cancer. Do you also know that smoking is not good for your skin? Yes, your skin is not safe too. Smoking does causes wrinkles otherwise known as smoking wrinkles. It is known as one of the major cause of wrinkles.

How does smoking causes wrinkles?

Perhaps, the most important way smoking causes skin wrinkles is that it causes free radical damage to the skin. The smoke from the cigarettes is know to cause the damage of collagen and elastin. These are elements that gives the skin its support. When this occur, the skin cannot be held together and thus leading to development of lines and wrinkles and in most causes premature wrinkles. Another way smoking wrinkles is caused is that, during the process of smoking or puffing cigarettes, the lips move in a particular manner. Repetitive movement of the lip in this manner can lead to the formation of lip lines or marionette lines around the mouth. If you are a heavy smoker, you are more likely to develop these wrinkles faster than a light or moderate smoker, however, which ever way, you are at risk. Just like I stated in my previous post on straws and wrinkles, there are several other factors that could be responsible to hasten the formation of wrinkles. The time and rate, your age and other factors could contribute to the development of wrinkles. For instance, someone who smokes for a short time and someone who have been smoking for a long time will have different effect. Same also goes for heavy and light smokers. Also some one who is older and someone who is younger will have different effect or impact of the wrinkles. Another factor that could contribute to the formation of wrinkles is sun’s exposure. Just like smoking, hut different degree, the sun’s light cause damage to collage and elastin in the body. And we know this elements help to keep the skin together. When these protein are damage, the body is prone to wrinkles.

Can smoking wrinkles be prevented?

The easiest way to prevent wrinkles cause by smoking is not to smoke at all. But if you are already a smoker, then stop smoking entirely. It may be difficult for some to stop but I know it is possible. It is beyond my scope here to tell you how to go about it but I know there are many other areas where you can get help.

Can Quitting Smoking Reverse Wrinkles?

Quitting smoking may not reverse wrinkle damage, but , it will go a long way to ensure that your skin do not suffer further damage as a result of continuing with the habit. The rate at which you age will drop when you quit smoking.

Does Smoking Weed Cause Wrinkles?

Smoke causes the damage of collagen and elastin in the skin. So, certainly, smoking weed will definitely causes wrinkles.

Does Nicotine Cause Wrinkles?

Nicotine present in cigarettes certainly a cause of wrinkles on the skin. Nicotine causes blood vessels in the outer layer of the skin to become narrow and this causes prevent proper flow of blood to the skin. Like I stated earlier the smoke from the cigarrete causes damage to the skin.

Does Smoking Age Your Face?

Smoking and your face? Yes, it does tell on your face. I know that one day everyone will grow old and get wrinkles. But, how soon you get those wrinkles matters as you are likely going to get those wrinkles even deep wrinkles from smoking earlier than normal.

Is The Use Of Straws Part Of What Causes Wrinkles?

Every now and then we see people whether in parties, parks, public event, occasion and so on, making use of straws. Does the use of straw part of what causes wrinkles? This is exactly what we shall be looking at in this article.
The truth is that the use of straws actually causes wrinkles to develop around the lip area of the mouth. This type of wrinkles is known as lip lines. If you have been following my blog, you will understand what wrinkles are all about. Perhaps, this is my first time of discussing about lip lines. Does straw causes wrinkles.
In recent times, there has been this question about straws and lip lines. The truth is that drinking through straw may not cause wrinkles around the mouth. However, wrinkles can occur when there is repetition of movement. In other words, repetition of movement around the mouth caused as a result of the use of straw will likely increase your chance of having lip lines.

Mind you, someone who uses straws few times a week or one or two times a day should not have course to worry. But, for someone who uses straws several times a day or for more than 25 times everyday stand a chance of having wrinkle developing in the areas around the mouth, and this of course we know is not common.
I know you might be tempted to ask. Why are there not many people with lip lines considering the number of straw users? The truth is that, what causes wrinkles is not by a single factor, several other factors are responsible. For instance, the movement or shape of the mouth when using straw or smoking cigarette is practically the same. But, someone who smokes is at a higher risk of developing wrinkles as compared to someone who uses straws without involving in cigarette smoking. So, you are more likely to develop wrinkles faster when you smoke and use straws as compared to someone who make use of straws only.
Another example is sun’s exposure. Someone who exposes the skin to the sun will likely get lip lines and wrinkles when they make use of straws than someone who do not.
There are several other factors that could also contribute to the quick development of wrinkles on the lips when you make use of straws. I restricted myself to these two examples as I have write about it in my past articles.
A final note is that for you to be free from lip lines causes by straws or at least prolong it, you must learn how to prevent wrinkles.
